Create a Website with HTML
using NoteTab Light

If you skipped the Overview, this mini tutorial is for those who would like to Create a Website with HTML using a conventional HTML editor. We recommend the freeware version Of Note Tab Light, for beginners.

Before you download the web site builder let's talk a little about servers and directories or folders on your PC.

If you allow the HTML editor to install to a default location it's most likely going to be set up in Program Files. It would work fine, but the path your your files would be a bit longer than desired. If you want to add a localhost server at a later date you'll also want a simpler set up.

Before you download, make a new folder named usr. Make a sub folder within that folder named htdocs.

When when you run the installation program for the NoteTab website builder change the installation directory to C:\usr\htdocs.

Your HTML pages or documents will all be saved in the htdocs sub directory. This will give you a set up similar to an Apache web server.

Be sure to download and install the freeware editor NoteTab Light web site builder and not one of the free trial versions. Go to Download Site
